This picture would not be possible without HDR. There was a big difference in the amount of light on the drawer and the chiseled stone above. If I would have based the exposure on the stone, the items in the drawer would have been too dark to see. I took three exposures (2 stops under, normal exposure, and 2 stops over) and combined them with Photomatix to get as much dynamic range as possible.
